Instructor and Sub-Agency Requirements
The following are required in order to begin instructing the National Safety Council’s Defensive Driving Course:
- DDC-8 Instructor Certification Course
- Sub-agency Agreement
- DDC-8 Teaching Kit
- Video Lease Agreement
DDC-8 Instructor Development Course (IDC)
- Registration Fee: $355, Member/$445, Nonmember
- DDC-8 Instructor Course enrollment fee includes the following course
materials:
- DDC 8 Fully-scripted Instructor Manual
- Participant course Guide
- Teaching DDC Candidate Instructor Guide
- Instructor Certification Form, Certificate of Completion, and much more
- There is an annual instructor recertification fee of $50
Sub-agency Agreement
Upon completion of the DDC-8-IDC, and in order to provide this program to your community, you will need to complete a Sub-agency Agreement and purchase the following materials. There is no fee for the Sub-agency Agreement.
DDC-8 Teaching Kit
- Includes a one-year video/DVD lease (members $770, nonmembers $1,006);
- Video sessions on DVD or VHS
- After the first year there is annual video/DVD lease renewal fee (members $450, nonmembers $590)
- Instructor PowerPoint presentation on CD or Instructor Flip Chart
- Magnetic Traffic Intersection Kit (includes traffic signs and shapes)
- Available in English and Spanish
Other
- Participant Guides
- Participant guides are quantity priced and will need to be purchased for each person that attends the class. These must be purchased through the Safety Council of the Ozarks to guarantee you’ll receive participant certificates of attendance.
Membership
- Membership is required to contract as a sub-agency and offer the Defensive Driving Class, and as a member of the Safety Council of the Ozarks you will receive joint membership in the National Safety Council. You will also receive member rates for training programs and materials.
