SATOP Certification Courses
The Safety Council of the Ozarks is designated to be the southwest regional training facility for the SATOP program by the Division of Alcohol and Drug abuse. Once a quarter, the Council provides training programs for individuals who are interested in becoming certified by the state of Missouri to instruct SATOP programs. If an individual meets certain educational and experiential prerequisites, he or she is eligible to enter the SATOP certification program. The individual takes a 5 contact hour class and also completes an observation of the Offender Education Program. Once that is done, a certificate of completion is sent to the individual and the Missouri Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse is notified. The Council also does additional training for the Weekend Intervention Program, the Adolescent Diversion Education Program, and Administrator training.
If interested in finding out more about this program, please contact Cheryl Sciranko at the Safety Council office, 869-2121 or 1-800-334-1349.
